“Having worked with animals all of my working life, I started shearing alpacas in 2005 and now shear more than 4000 each year.

“I love my profession and over the years have developed my own technique and continue to work on improving and honing my skills.

“I believe alpaca shearing is all about technique and being in tune with the animal. Unlike many commercial shearers, I work mostly alone and strive to create a calm shearing experience for both the animal and owner!

“My shearing ‘patch’ ranges from Lands End to Birmingham, France to Norway and includes alpaca breeders both large and small.

“Outside of the shearing season I also carry out ultrasound scanning for pregnancy in alpaca, sheep and pigs. I also regularly assist on alpaca shearing training courses and have been known to do the odd demo day at our large agricultural shows.
